The Walk Home

The story of my walk home from the city – life in the slow lane (I’m sure there is a parody song in there somewhere). All the film clips were posted on Instagram as a story, so they are made in portrait on purpose. A bit annoying for ‘normal’ viewing but that’s the way the cookie crumbled. There are a few sections and photos in the film that weren’t on Instagram and it comes with a warning: Some views expressed in this film have the potential to be of benefit to all life on earth.

Approximately 30km from Ultimo to Mount Colah on a largely fruitless search for edible gardens. Beautiful buildings and manicured front gardens, but precious little in the way of getting back to the land. Unless everyone keeps their food hidden away in the back…

Great to see a different side of Sydney and come across sights that were new to me. The archaeological dig on Cumberland St was an eye opener, but as usual I feel hollow that we treat 200 year old history with some reverence, but what came before that for 60,000 years has been almost completely obliterated.

I’ve done a few really long walks like this and it always surprises me just how much they recharge the positive mental energy and how happy I am for at least a couple of days afterwards.

Already looking at the next one. Manly Quarantine Station to Palm Beach Lighthouse anyone?
