The Composting Toilet

This is a topic that polarises society, and really, there is nothing much to it. The sooner people accept that we are animals living in a finite system of organisms that depend on each other for survival, and that humanure is just another thread in the interwoven fabric of life the better.

The video explains my basic version of the composting toilet, how I process the compost and what the end result looks like.

Since I started making humanure about two years ago I’ve earned a real appreciation of what a huge resource this is, and we are flushing it away with perfectly clean drinking water.

Some cultures called it Night Soil and fought over it to fertilise their crops.

I don’t aim to use it on veggies just to be 100% on the safe side, but for any woody trees, including fruit trees, there is nothing better.
